A brief history of Bijou Consulting:

The Bijou Consulting Company was established in 2006 after the partners Heather Irwin and Alison “Crazy Bones” Schmidt completed their four years of University. After a few years of working together they were able to establish the company on Jarvis Street in the downtown core of Toronto. The Bijou Consulting Company specializes in independent and foreign films thus they began consulting smaller film festivals that appealed to this genre. The Annual Vancouver Island Film, Video and New Media Festival was the first film festival that the company worked with. This gave the partners a chance to travel around Canada. They were able to help film festivals in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick. Finally they decided to focus on Film Festivals that would be occurring in Toronto. They are now very important consultants to the ReelWorld Film Festival and Toronto’s International Film Festival. They also have been spreading to other film festivals across the globe such as the Cannes Film Festival and The Sundance Film Festival. Overall Bijou Consulting Company has had much success since they opened their doors in 2006.
